Videotaping Your Awards Ceremony
Share the Moments with Friends and Family Who Can’t Attend
Going to an awards ceremony is a special event in your life, especially if you actually getting an award from Trophies 2 Go. It’s a day to celebrate your achievement – whether you’re receiving a diploma or a sports trophy; company award or plaque for the best volunteer.
Although this is a big day for you, it may be that not all of your family or friends can come, so it only makes sense that you videotape your award ceremony. Not every knows how to do this, or knows how to set up their video equipment properly to capture the best view. Trophies 2 Go is going to give you step by step instructions to help videotape your awards ceremony, so that you can save this momentous
occasion and share it with those who couldn’t attend. But first, no need to get overwhelmed.
FOUR SOLID TIPS FOR FILMING YOUR AWARDS CEREMONY:
- There’s nothing worse than an empty bag, or forgetting spare batteries for long events. If you are going to shoot using multiple cameras, make sure that you have plenty of extra batteries ready to go.
- Try to position the camera in the front aisle somewhere at a diagonal angle. This will allow for great panoramic views of the podium and the crowd.
- You can always add music to your video at a later time, during the editing process.
- If you have a second camera, set it up in the back aisle to get a center view. At the very least, you should have the back camera rolling steadily for panoramic views, pans and zoom-ins; while the front will handle close-ups of faces and crowd shots.
- There really isn’t that much more to it.
Finally, make sure that you get good angles, sample sound checks and remember all the tiny details that will enhance your video recording experience. Sit back and film the history of the awards ceremony and that great occasion of receiving a special Trophies2Go plaque.
Videotaping your award ceremony will enable you to relive your moment – the moment of receiving the award – for many years to come. It’s not so much about collecting the actual trophy as it is the feeling of accomplishment and the priceless photo of the joy on your face as you accept the award with a handshake and grin that rivals the Cheshire cat.

Recognizing Employee Excellence – Keeping Business Integrity
My life coach, Shandel Slaten of True Life Coaching, states that integrity is Words, Thoughts and Actions being in alignment. That is extremely important in my company as well as the companies we serve.
For me, how would our customers feel if we promised their awards would get there on a certain date, but we didn’t fulfill on our promise? That would be a major breach in our core values and our integrity. So to keep our integrity, our staff does what it takes to keep our word in delivery dates, accuracy and quality.
As it pertains to our customers, I feel that awards and recognition products helps them keep integrity with their employees. Most companies value their employees above most everything else. To be in alignment with that value and keep integrity with their workers, it is important to keep them happy and performing at a high level. This includes giving them incentive to excel, acknowledging them for a job well done and maintaining a high level of morale.
My wish for employers, especially in these uncertain times, is to make sure that their employees are appreciated for their contributions to the company. Even if your company is struggling or downsizing, it is important to keep your staff’s sense of worth and contribution up. This can be accomplished by kind words, gifts, contests, or recognition. While our company specializes in corporate awards and one of my goals is to sell more of them, my main point is for people to get recognized for a job well done.
