Awards for a Cause 2nd Quarter – Treeswing.org
Each quarter, the staff at Trophies2go.com chooses an ‘Awards for a Cause’. We donate a certain dollar amount for each award sold. This quarter, we are proud to announce Treeswing as our selection.

Our name Treeswing takes us back to “the good old days” when children soared on the treeswing in the back yard or biked to a neighbor’s to play. Today there often are no sidewalks, and video games have replaced kickball as the activity of choice. Families don’t have time to sit down to dinner together – instead it’s driving through a fast food restaurant. Treeswing believes we can change that, and bring healthy habits back into our children’s lives.

Eastside Domestic Violence Program – Our 1st Quarter 2009 ‘Awards for a Cause’ Beneficiary
I am proud to announce our selection for our 1st Quarter 2009 Awards for a Cause, Eastside Domestic Violence Program. Founded in 1981, this grassroots organization started with a crisis line and support group. It has blossomed to be an integral part of our community with many volunteers providing much needed help.
Here is a little more about EDVP:
Eastside Domestic Violence Program (EDVP) is the largest provider of services for domestic violence victims in Washington. In addition to a crisis line, EDVP operates two confidential shelters, offers additional safe housing in the community, runs support groups for women and children, provides extensive community education and trainings, and advocates on behalf of victims.
Over the years, EDVP has been recognized for innovative programs. They created the Community Advocacy program that provides links to victims through police departments, hospitals, social service agencies and more. They also launched “My Friend’s Place”, a transitional housing program for families dealing with both domestic violence and substance abuse–the first program of its kind. And they worked to expand community education with the Domestic Violence Goes to Work Campaign.
The need for their services has increased along with community awareness. With the support of our Awards for a Cause program, we aim to help support EDVP in helping to provide much needed support for domestic violence victims.
